After a tough day, it's all too easy to focus on the negative aspects of life and forget about all the wonderful things and people that are around us.

But a poem thought to have been written by a teenager has given us a major lesson in shifting our perspective.

When read from top to bottom, the poem focusses on the misery of life and tells readers that today is "the absolute worst day ever".

But read the poem from bottom to top, and its message is one of hope and creating your own destiny.

The poem was stuck on a wall on Holloway Road, London, when Ronnie Joice spotted it and tweeted a photo.

The image has since been posted on Imgur, where more than 1 million people have viewed the inspirational words.

The work is reportedly the work of Chanie Gorkin, a secondary school pupil from Brooklyn in New York.

We don't know about you, but we think she's got a bright future ahead of her.
