Ukip Supporter Timothy Miller's Anti-Muslim Christmas Banner Is Not Pleasing Many People

Ukip Supporter Has A Very Big (And Islamophobic) Message For Santa

A Ukip supporter in Hampshire has offended his neighbours yet again by putting up a huge anti-Muslim Christmas banner.

Each year Timothy 'Dusty' Miller displays a banner calling on Father Christmas to give him his biggest Christmas wish - the UK's exit from the European Union - and his latest creation for 2015 is no different.

The Hedge End resident's banner, decorated with Santa and a snowman, reads: "Dear Father Christmas, an EU exit is the only present for me if not, it had better be a Koran [sic] and lessons in Arabic".

The snowy scene the words are set on shows a copy of the Quran sitting in Santa's sack, while a snowman holds a sign saying "Santa is it true your [sic] being sacked?"

Neighbours have spoken out agains the banner, with one resident, Liz Colthart describing it as "divisive" and "ill-timed".

"It's verging on racism," she told The Daily Echo newspaper.

The paper reported other resident claiming this year's banner had "crossed the line" and was "awful".

Mr Miller is well-known for his large banners which have caused controversy in the past, with previous efforts including a huge Union flag - hanging upside down - with the words: "An urgent message for Father Christmas, all we wish for is our country back!"

Hampshire Constabulary said it had not received any complaints about this year's banner. The borough council said

there is "no justification" for taking it down under planning restrictions, according to the Daily Echo.

Arshad Sharif, chairman of the Muslim Council of Southampton, said: "It is worrying because when you take into account Donald Trump's comments these days it is acceptable to blame Muslims for everything, and it is quite worrying."
