A man who admitted scaling Buckingham Palace's wall on Wednesday night is a convicted murderer.
Dennis Hennessy, of Wembley, pleaded guilty to one count of trespass on a protected site and one count of criminal damage when he appeared in court on Friday.
The 41-year-old had walked around the palace gardens for about 10 minutes around 8.30pm before his arrest.
Westminster Magistrates' Court heard how he was on licence after being convicted of the murder of a homeless man in 1992, the BBC reported.
