Black Friday 2016: Tesco Deals, John Lewis, Argos, Sainsbury's, eBay Offers And Opening Times

This year's shopping bonanza will be the biggest yet.

Retailers including Tesco, Argos, Halfords, Homebase, and Matalan are preparing to offer customers massive savings as part of the Black Friday sales.

Although kicking off officially at midnight on Friday 25 November - some retailers have begun their sales even earlier, meaning you can begin shopping right now.

Together with Cyber Monday on 28 November this is the weekend when you can grab yourself an astonishing bargain on gizmos, gadgets, and essential home appliances.

This year’s Black Friday is set to be the biggest yet - with the 25 November alone seeing spending over £1.3bn - up on last year’s £1.1bn.

Overall sales are expected to soar 19 percent this year, according to website VoucherCodes.co.uk.

Tesco deals

At Tesco instore Black Friday deals will be available from 5am on Friday 25 November in the majority of Tesco Extra stores. 24 hour Extra stores will close from midnight on Thursday 24 November until 5am on Friday 25 November to prepare for the event.

Other stores’ opening times

The Oxford Street shop will open an hour and a half early at 8.00am, and stay open late until 10pm. Any additional opening hours for other shops will be announced online. The store is promising to stand by its commitment to being Never Knowingly Undersold with its Black Friday web page.

ARGOS

Argos has kicked off Black Friday in spectacular style and below are some of the very best deals available at the retailer’s 800 stores and online. Check local information but most stores open late.

ASDA

Following hectic scenes at branches of the Walmart-owned retailer two years ago, Asda announced it continue to not take part in this year’s shopping bonanza.

SAINSBURY’S

Sainsbury’s usually dedicates a special section in its stores to Black Friday deals, with in-store only offers the same as last year. The supermarket has a geolocator tool on its website so that you can find shops near you taking part in Black Friday. Main, front-of-store deals on electrical household items will run from the 27th until the 29th, while stocks last. Additional non-food deals will be available from the 25th November until 1 December.

eBay has launched tons of deals to coincide with Black Friday. Best deals on Thursday were a PS4 Slim 1TB Console + Uncharted 4 + Driveclub + Ratchet & Clank with an eBay Black Friday deal price of just £262.85- from ShopTo.

As well as a Samsung UE40KU6020 40” 4K Ultra HD TV Freeview HD Built in Wifi HDMI & USB Ports with an eBay Black Friday deal price of just £299.99.

GAME has a series of Black Friday ‘countdown deals’ online already, and will kick off still more deals at 8PM on Thursday. It has a detailed guide to Black Friday opening times for individual stores on its website.

Currys PC World is expecting such a surge of interest on Black Friday but has begun its massive ‘Black Tag’ event early - check it out now. An online queueing system is in place and if you leave, you’ll lose your place. Shoppers planning to visit stores on the day can reserve items online, and are reminded to get there early and to “bring plenty of coffee to keep you awake before the doors open.” Shop opening times vary and can be found on the Currys site.

B&Q

The home improvement retailer has launched a whole fortnight of offers to coincide with Black Friday - so check out its site now. Store opening times are expect to be as normal.

Amazon this year has promoted a series of Lightning Deals in the run-up to Black Friday. The deals are live for a limited period only and can be accessed through the website’s Today’s Deals section, by following the online store’s social media accounts and signing up for deals emails. Shoppers can also install a mobile app for easy access and advance warnings.

Expect huge demand for Apple’s one day shopping event on Black Friday.

“Our one-day shopping event will be here before you know it. Come back this Friday to check everyone off your list,” Apple said on its website.

B&M

B&M has yet to reveal its electrical offers for Black Friday - so check back on the day. Closing times will vary depending on which shop you visit, so check your local information.

BOOTS

Boots is taking part in Black Friday, though shoppers are advised to check the website for extended opening times and special deals.

HALFORDS

Halfords will open its event at midnight on Friday online, and will operate standard opening times at its physical stores. Sales of bikes are expected to be strong, and the retailer is advising customers to be prepared ahead of the event.

HOMEBASE

Homebase kicked off Black Friday early by launching deals on selected items.

MATALAN

Matalan will continue its half-price sale week, adding new lines on Black Friday. All its deals will end on Sunday, though, so shoppers are advised to get in early to bag those Christmas gifts and comfy winter clothes.

Carphone Warehouse launched its Black Friday deals for 2016 earlier - and Apple iPhone fans should take note. Store opening varies, so check local information.
