Dannii Minogue's Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day falls on different days in the UK and Australia so, not only will this be my first, but I'll get to celebrate it twice!

I always think the best gift you can give someone is doing something for them that they usually do for other people, whether that's making them a special meal, or letting them put their feet up while you do the dishes afterwards. That's why my Mother's Day gift guide begins with a healthy, indulgent, breakfast recipe.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there, whether you're a first timer like me, or an experienced campaigner. Dx,feedConfig,localizationConfig,entry&id=994711&pid=994710&uts=1301673610

Get mum's day off to a yummy start with breakfast in bed. Here's a delicious, simple-to-make granola recipe you can prepare and serve up to Mum on Mother's Day morning.

4 cups rolled oats
½ cup sliced almonds
½ cup hazelnuts
½ cup shredded coconut
¼ cup unsalted pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
¼ cup shelled sunflower seeds (You can swap these with pine nuts for a delicious toasty flavour)
½ cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons canola oil
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup dried fruit (cherries, cranberries, raisins, currants or a mixture)

1. Heat oven to 350° F (180° C)
2. Toss the oats, almonds, hazelnuts, coconut, pepitas and sunflower seeds with the maple syrup, oil, and salt in a baking tray with a rim
3. Bake 20-30 minutes, until golden brown and crisp, tossing once
4. Add the dried fruit and toss to combine
5. Allow the mixture to cool, then serve some of it up to Mum in a beautiful bowl with a dollop of Greek yoghurt and a sprinkling of fresh berries
6. Store the rest of the mixture in an airtight jar, decorate it with a ribbon and gift card, and give it to Mum so that she can start every day in the same delicious way.

Write a collection of notes to your mum about all the things you love about her. Hide them all over the house in places she will find, even after Mother's Day has passed. Leave them in her glove box, the kitchen cupboard, her bedside table, make up bag, coat pocket, jewellery box and even write a special message on a book mark. Mum will be discovering your notes for weeks afterwards, making all her days as special as Mother's Day.
