The trailer for new Brit-flick Albatross, starring Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay (Lady Sybil) and Felicity Jones (Still Crazy, Chalet Girl), has been released.
The film sees 17-year-old aspiring author Emelia (Findlay) burst into the lives of the dysfunctional Fischer family when she is hired to work in their guest house in a sleepy town on the South Coast.
Emelia ends up having an affair with her new friend Beth Fischer’s (Jones) dad (Sebastian Koch) after they unite over a love of books.
Albatross, which premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival this year, is the debut film from award-winning television director Niall MacCormick (BAFTA-nominated BBC drama Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley)
On the surface (and by the looks of the trailer) Albatross seems like your standard coming-of-age drama. But the film received good reviews at Edinburgh and we’re promised it has "layers" and thought-provoking scenes that are both deep and funny.
The film is out in October - watch the trailer below and let us know if you’ll be going to see it…
