There's Only One Jeff Buckley, But They're Lining Up To Play Him - So Who's Got The Look?

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Reeve Carney has taken the coveted role of Jeff Buckley in a forthcoming biopic.

The US singer-songwriter, who currently stars as Spider-Man in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, has signed on to portray the late musician in the as yet untitled film, to be directed by Jake Scott, reported Deadline.

The 28-year-old will do all the singing in order to bring the music of Buckley - who was just getting started as a solo artist and had released his only studio album when he drowned at the age of 30 in 1997 - back to life.

Production is set to begin in November.

There are two other films in the works about Jeff, including Greetings From Tim Buckley starring Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley as a pre-fame Jeff, and A Pure Drop, which is directed by Brendan Fletcher and based on the book A Pure Drop: The Life Of Jeff Buckley.
