Kate Middleton went for understated chic as she joined her husband Prince William at the Royal Marsden Hospital for the opening of a children's cancer unit.

The duchess arrived at the hospital wearing a simple oatmeal, felt long-sleeved Amanda Wakeley dress (yours for just £450) that finished just above the knee, nude pumps and a nude clutch bag. Her only jewellery was her wedding and engagement rings and a small silver cross.
Her husband wore a navy suit and appeared cheerful despite rushing to the engagement immediately after a 24 hour shift as a rescue pilot.
The occasion is also an opportunity for a reunion of sorts - Alice Marples, a 12-year-old patient who met William in 2009, was be on hand to present a bouquet to the duchess and greet the prince.
The royal couple will be meeting patients and their families as part of the visit to the 31-bed Oak Centre which specialises in care for younger cancer sufferers.
