What to wear when meeting the Queen? It's a question that must have caused hours of angst and sleepless night's for aristocracy, politicians, celebrities and commoners alike.
Australian author Kathy Lette came to the conclusion that a dress adorned with a fetching corgi print would be most apt for such an occasion.
This might have been a high-risk strategy, but If she was hoping to raise a smile from Her Majesty, she succeeded. The Queen looked delighted as she greeted Lette in her corgi-covered dress and matching flowerpot handbag yesterday, at Buckingham Palace's Australian reception.
In case the Queen might mistake Lette's dress as a coincidence, the happy-looking corgis on her dress even wore crowns.
Hugh Jackman and Elle Macpherson also met the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the reception, but their outfits were altogether less remarkable.
The Queen greeted the Australian stars, before addressing over 350 guests, ahead of her royal tour Down Under next week.
