World's Largest Edible Taj Mahal Is Second To Naan

The iconic, elegant white domes of the Taj Mahal have been immortalised in Indian cuisine.

The 3ft x 10ft x 5ft homage on display in London took 1.2 million grains of rice, 18 bags of mini poppadoms, 10 jars of mango chutney and 30 green chillis to constrtuct.

The original Taj Mahal took 20,000 North Indian labourers 22 years to create. This delectable version took food artist Prudence Staite only five days and seven-and-a-half-hours to rustle up.

The garden is made of mango chutney and poppadoms, with green chilli trees lining the avenue up to the palace. The main structure is made of the millions of pilau rice grains, while the chipati bread forms main dome of the majestic sculpture.
