Conrad Murray has fired a blow to Michael Jackson's family from behind bars, claiming that the star's last words were: "Let me have some milk."
The doctor's claims will feature in a US documentary, due to be shown this week by Channel 4.
"Milk" was how Jackson described the powerful anaesthetizing drug Propofol, which he used to help him sleep.
In the documentary, Murray paints himself as the only person who could help the troubled star:
"He was pleading, and begging me, to please, please, let him have some milk. That was the only thing that would work. He really could not sleep. Have you ever seen the Thriller image when he was made up? He looked that hysterical."
It wasn't just Jackson's insomnia that Murray tried to treat, the doctor claims:
"Walking around with painful feet as a dancer, unbelievable calluses, so I brought the appropriate specialists. He was very pleased of
course," the doctor says in one clip posted on TMZ.com.
And he claimed Jackson told him: "All my life I have found one friend, which is you, Dr Conrad."
Murray had signed a lucrative contract (around $150,000 a month) to tend to the star, while he prepared for a series of comeback concerts in London.
On Monday, he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, after giving Jackson 100ml of Propofol, then leaving him to make a series of phone calls. He also delayed calling emergency services, when it was clear the star's life was in danger.
The Sun newspaper reports that Murray had hoped to make £1million from the programme but makers NBC insist he will not be paid.
According to The Sun, the documentary will show Murray over the past two years as he prepared for his trial, during which he continued to speak to the programme's producers.
Channel 4 is not saying how much it paid for the documentary, but has stated no money will go to Dr Murray.
