Sharon Stone returned to the red carpet at the 2011 Governors Ball last night and we were definitely impressed with her gothic glam style here at MyDaily HQ.

The actress stepped out in a very flattering, floor-length, sequin embellished gown and while we love this dress on the star, her look wouldn't have been complete without her statement red lipstick and scraped-back updo.
While the black eyeliner and cherry red lip colour could easily have looked too harsh teamed with this kind of hairstyle, somehow Stone made it work. She might be in her 50s, but Stone's skin looked flawless at last night's event. (Extra beauty points are also awarded for matching her lips with her nails).
We love this look. It's classic and simple, yet it's sure to make heads turn.

Celebrities in red lipstick
Pixie was the first celebrity off the mark with this season's grunge trend. At the Elle 25th anniversary party Pixie's red lips added a glamorous antidote to the Kurt Cobain-inspired hair.
Nobody rocks red quite like Rihanna. Attending the Westfield shopping centre to switch on the 2010 Christmas lights, the singer opted for a plum-toned red shade with a slight shimmer to complement her skin tone and match her signature scarlet locks.
Never one to miss a hot trend, Fearne Cotton rocks the look, plumping for a bright orange-toned statement red teamed with dramatic black eyeliner. But be warned, warm tones can draw attention to less than white teeth.
At the 9th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation benefit in New York Christina Ricci went for classic glamour with a matte red pout and super-long lashes. For a velvet finish like this, blot lips with a tissue.
Gemma makes her pillar-box red pout the focal point of her look by teaming with gleaming nearly-nude makeup and a simple line of black kohl.
The perfect complement to her platinum blonde locks, Gwen Stefani never goes anywhere without her red lipstick. Up close this look is a bit too heavy for our tastes though.
Even on the red carpet, fresh-faced Sienna usually opts for minimal makeup. But since the Matthew Williamson spring/summer show the star has become a re lipstick addict.
Vintage Vixen, Dita Von Teese, has had women the country over dashing to their makeup counter to invest in a red lipstick in an attempt to emulate her classic retro look. To recreate the look, team with 40s waves, winged eyeliner and lashings of gloss.
