PHOTOS: Prince Philip Dons Military Fatigues To Award British Soldiers

Prince Philip donned military fatigues on Monday as he handed out awards to British soldiers for their service in Afghanistan.

The Duke of Edinburgh was the guest of honour at the parade in Fallinbostel, Germany where he awarded 150 soldiers from the 2 Close Support Battalion REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers).

Prince Philip has a military background himself, having joined the Royal Navy aged 18 in 1939. During the Second World War he served in the Mediterranean and Pacific.
