Adele Leads British Pack With Six Grammy Award Nominations, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kanye All On List

First AMAs, Now Grammys For Adele?

Adele has once again enjoyed the warm embrace of her American fans, earning five nominations in leading categories ahead of the 2012 Grammy Awards.

With the shortlist announced on CBS last night, the record-breaking soul singer garnered nods for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Waist-coated minstrels Mumford & Sons will be up against Adele for Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. They were also nominated for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.

Other British artists to be recognised were Radiohead (five nominations) and Coldplay (three).

Kanye West led the pack with seven nominations, including a shout-out for his collaboration with Jay-Z, Otis.

Other leading nominees include Lady Gaga and Rihanna, both up for Album of the Year, and Bruno Mars with four nominations.

Amy Winehouse, who died in July, received a nomination for her collaboration with Tony Bennett.
