If you live in a big city, or even a slightly stabby regional one, you might never get the chance to see the night sky looking as magnificent as this.

Photographers like Brad Goldpaint take to the wilds of our world to bring back images that inspire awe, and deliver a much needed dose of perspective for our daily woes.

Photographer Mark Humpage from Leicestershire, who captured the spinning night sky, describes himself as a seasoned stormchaser and modern adventurer.

He trains his lense at the north celestial pole, which is found right by the bright star Polaris. While the earth spins, and Humpage holds his shutter open, a swirling display is captured.
