Reality TV star Imogen Thomas feels 'vindicated' after lawyers for Ryan Giggs accepted she did not try to blackmail the footballer.
The ex-Big Brother contestant, who is reported to have had an affair with the Manchester United player, appeared in court on Thursday as a statement in the CTB hearing - a pseudonym for Giggs' case against News Group Newspapers - was read out.
The case arose from an article in The Sun, which named the TV star but did not name the footballer she was allegedly having an affair with.
An injunction was granted following the article in April, with the application stating it was believed Imogen was trying to sell her story to the press and had asked for money.
Now lawyers in the CTB case have acknowledged she had no intention of blackmailing the star.
In a statement after the hearing at London's High Court, Imogen said: "To suddenly have to defend my character because of this legal process has been extremely upsetting and stressful.
"I'm just relieved that the parties and the court now accept that I'm no blackmailer. I have been vindicated and that's all I wanted."
