Woman Rescued From Burning Flat

Firefighters have rescued a woman from a burning flat.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at a second floor flat in Moorpark Square, Renfrew around 5.15pm on Saturday.

Three fire appliances from Renfrew, Paisley and Govan attended the incident as the incident commander believed there was a "risk of rapid fire spread".

The woman was rescued from the flat and treated with oxygen before an ambulance took her to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley suffering from smoke inhalation.

All other flats in the block were evacuated and no one else was injured.

Strathclyde Fire said the blaze has now been extinguished and officers remain at the scene to carry out an investigation into the cause of the fire.
