We'd best get ready for a juggernaut of blockbuster action coming this way.
With Universal preparing to launch their centenary with Battleship, and Christopher Nolan set to unleash the final instalment of his Batman trilogy, Ridley Scott is not being left out of the party.
The force behind such mould-breaking films as Alien and Blade Runner has returned to the genre he helped define, withPrometheus, in 3D to boot.
The blurb reveals that he has set his version of the ancient myth around a team of explorers discovering a clue to the origins of mankind, which - guess what - will involve a huge battle as they are then forced to try to save the future of the human race. So that's an easy Sunday afternoon out at the flicks guaranteed.
It's an impressive lineup with Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron, backed up by the talents of Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, and the ever-present Michael Fassbender - does he ever sleep?
The film is due in cinemas on 1st June, so in the meantime, here's what they call a teaser trailer above.
