A woman has pleaded guilty to kidnapping a newborn baby from a hospital in America 23 years ago - and raising the child as her own.
Carlina White was snatched by Ann Pettway, 51, when she was three weeks old and brought to hospital in New York for her parents. Her birth mother, Joy White, wept in the courtroom gallery as Pettway admitted the crime, adding "it was wrong".
After the hearing, White told reporters: "I've lost 23 years of being with my daughter."

She told journalists she remembers seeing Pettway dressed as a nurse when her daughter was snatched from the New York hospital.

The kidnapping came to light after Carlina after found an image of herself on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's website.
She had been told she was abandoned by a drug addict.
