A father suffering from a "broken heart" hanged himself after leaving a goodbye message on Facebook, an inquest has heard.
Roger Crouch, 55, committed suicide just 18 months after his son took his own life following rumours about his sexuality.
Crouch was discovered in his garage by his wife after writing on Facebook: "Au Revoir, so long - or maybe A Bientot."
Following his son's death, Crouch had begun an anti-homophobic-bullying campaign, winning an award from the charity Stonewall for his efforts.
His wife, Paola Crouch, told the inquest he had a "broken heart" following his son's suicide.
Assistant coroner David Dooley said Crouch had been "overcome by grief".
"Clearly he was very taken up with campaigning for his son and others he felt may have been subjected to bullying.
"But he was eventually overwhelmed by grief for his son. On the evidence I feel I can be sure of his settled intent to take his own life."
