Bendtner And Cattermole In Court

Two Premier League footballers will appear before magistrates today charged with criminal damage after cars were allegedly attacked close to the home of their arch rivals.

Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole and loan striker Nicklas Bendtner will face five offences of criminal damage relating to cars parked in Newcastle's Stowell Street in December.

The players, both of Darras Hall, Ponteland, Northumberland, will appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court.

Bendtner, a 24-year-old Danish international, is spending a season on Wearside on loan from Arsenal. Cattermole is 23, and originally from Teesside.

Stowell Street, in China Town, is only two minutes from the home of Newcastle United.
