Terry Border's 'Bent Objects': A Recipe For Success?

Don't Play With Your Food!

If you’ve only ever said “don’t play with your food” to toddlers with spaghetti bolognaise round their mouths, you’d better think again.

You might want to say it to 46-year-old artist Terry Border, who has taken to fiddling with his food to create his Bent Objects series.

With the help of carefully placed wires, expert lighting and a great sense of humour, the artist creates fantastic scenes bringing everyday objects to life.

Among our favourites include a banana boxing match, wrinkly old raisins hobbling away from a cereal bowl and cannibalistic peanuts.

The artist, who once worked as commercial photographer, captures the images and posts them regularly on his blog.

The artist speaks fondly of web communities, which he feels are central to his commercial success and an integral part of the creative process.

He has published two books Bent Object of My Affection: The Twists and Turns of Love and Bent Objects: The Secret Life of Everyday Things and will soon be releasing a calendar, which we imagine could prove fruitful.

Personally we love his work and have brought it together in the gallery below. Have a look, is his work to your taste?
