Prince Harry Takes On World's Fastest Man Usain Bolt In Jamaica.. Cheats.. And Wins!

Bolt From The Blue - Harry Too Fast Out Of The Traps Against Usain

These are the images every British sports fan wants to see this summer - Usain Bolt being beaten into second place by a leading member of Team GB.

But Prince Harry's debut as an international sprinter was covered in 'controversy' after he was accused of cheating by the world's fastest man.

The meeting at the University of the West Indies stadium in Jamaica started well as Bolt, whose 100 metre world record of 9.58 seconds was set in Berlin in 2009, gave the royal a brief coaching lesson on how start a race using blocks.

A casual looking Harry, who is on official tour in the Caribbean was clad in the green, yellow and black of the Jamaica flag and wearing tracksuit bottoms.

After getting ready to race Harry bolted out of the blocks on a false start, but raced to the winner's tape and claimed victory.

Going for gold: Harry laughs as he beats Usain

Bolt, 25, immediately called for a rematch against the third-in-line to the throne who side-stepped the issue.

"He cheated," Bolt later explained. "I said we would have a rematch in London 2012 and Harry said 'I'm busy'."

"I think he knew that he wouldn't beat me and he wanted to make sure that he went back to London and (could say) he actually beat me, but for me it was fun.

"As I said he was playful and energetic and for me it was wonderful to meet him."

Bolt went on to praise the Queen's grandson, visiting Jamaica to mark her Diamond Jubilee: "He's cool, very down to earth.

"When you meet dignitaries you think it will be difficult but he just wanted to laugh - it was an honour and a pleasure to meet him.

"I'm still the fastest man in the world so he has a long way to go."

A laughing Bolt jogged after the royal whilst making his celebratory gesture. The Olympic gold medalist then gave the prince a few running tips before a crowd of onlookers.

The royal will also meet Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.

She sparked controversy after saying she wanted to replace the Queen as head of state with a Jamaican.

Harry is touring the Caribbean for 10 days as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee commemorations, as Her Majesty celebrates 60 years on the throne.

On Sunday he came face-to-face with Miss Bahamas 2011 at a Nassau reception, just a day after Anastagia Pierre had said she wanted to marry him.

Miss Pierre was said to have kept a fixed gaze on the bashful prince, whom she described as "hot", at the Sheraton Hotel.
