In a mistake that will draw sympathy from Question Time presenter David Dimbleby, Ed Miliband tied himself in knots on Friday when he picked what he thought was a woman to ask a question of him during a Q&A session.
Unfortunately for the Labour leader the person in question was in fact a young man, whose beard should have given him away.
"Ok there's a gentleman... a lady... in the scarf, is that a lady at the back? Or is it a man? Well since i've seen you anyway I'll let you ask a question," he said.

"Sorry about that. And you've got a beard, so you are clearly a man," Miliband added to the laughter in the audience.
"I am, yeah," the young man responded before asking a quesiton.
