A man has been charged over the discovery of a body found dumped in a wheelie bin.
James Anthony Jepson, 24, is accused of murdering Steven Rourke, 26, who was discovered on open land off Bickershaw Lane in Wigan on Sunday.
Greater Manchester Police said a post-mortem examination indicated that Mr Rourke had been strangled.
Jepson, also know as Kelly, of Bickershaw Lane, is due to appear before Wigan Magistrates' Court today.
Two other men, aged 19 and 21, arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail pending further inquiries until 27 June, police said.
In a statement yesterday, Mr Rourke's family said: "Steven was a lovely young man who was always happy to help others. He was well-known in the Bickershaw area, where he was well liked as Steven never saw any bad in anyone."
