Grumpy Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood may have an excuse for his scathing comments and harsh put-downs - he's been hiding a heartbreaking split from his long-term partner.
The 47-year-old dancer split from Harley Street pharmacist Grant MacPherson, 32, in October but has been keeping the news secret while recovering from the break-up.
The couple had been together for five years after meeting through a dating website in 2007 but they parted ways when their different lifestyles forced them apart.
Craig told the Daily Mail: "We split in October but I kept it quiet so we can get over it. It has been sad, but you have to move on. We just grew apart and things hadn't been as easy as they were in the beginning for a while.
"Our worlds are very different and we both knew it wasn't working. We said it had to be over at the same time. In fact, he beat me to it by a millisecond!"
But choreographer Craig - who is currently working on BBC show Maestro At The Opera - has managed to find some positives in his newly single life, and has grown in confidence at work and at home.
He said: "The good news is that I have found that I am fine by myself and it has helped me really concentrate on this series, which has been the most amazing experience."
