Jack Osbourne has described the "instant love" he felt for his new baby daughter.
The star, whose fiancee Lisa Stelly gave birth to baby Pearl two weeks ago, admitted he needed "time" to get used to the prospect of becoming a father.
The 25-year-old told Hello! Magazine: "People say when you have a kid it's like instant love, but unless you've experienced it, it's impossible to comprehend.
"The moment I saw her I felt more love than I'd ever felt for anything. It was the weirdest, most overwhelming thing."
The couple, who will marry later this year, had been together for three months when they discovered Lisa was pregnant.
Osbourne said: "I think I responded with 'that's interesting'.
"What do you say? If we'd been trying for two years, of course you'd be like 'awesome'. But we met in May and found out in August.
"I told Lisa: 'you need to give me a week to really take this in'. I had that time to get my head around the whole situation."
But his mother, former X Factor judge Sharon, said she had no doubts once she saw her son with Pearl.
She said: "It's incredible to see Jack holding his baby girl, walking around so confidently.
"He's very nurturing and he and Lisa are so good together."
Before the birth, Sharon appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and could barely contain her excitement at the impending birth.
"Like its Grandma, it's late. I'm always late and this baby is late... It could be (born) any second," she said. "I've got the kettle on. I've got towels. I've got everything ready."
