Britney Spears is said to be "beyond excited" for her upcoming judging role on The X Factor USA.
The pop star has apparently signed her contract to join Simon Cowell and LA Reid for the second season of the American version of the hit talent competition, following months of talks, reported E! News.
"The contract is signed. There's been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she's on," a source close to the star said.
"It's all completed and Britney is beyond excited," the source added.
Judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were axed from their seats on the judging panel following the show's inaugural season, along with Welsh host Steve Jones.
This will be Britney's most high-profile TV stint since 2004's short-lived reality series Britney & Kevin: Chaotic with ex-husband Kevin Federline, although she has made appearances on shows like How I Met Your Mother, Will & Grace and Glee.
"She's ready for this. She can't wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges' table and give this everything she's got," the source continued.
"She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together."
Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato have been linked to the fourth and final judge's seat, which has yet to be filled.
