Geroge Galloway has written a musical based on the life of 1960s British soul singer Dusty Springfield.
The Respect MP for Bradford West told a surprised presenter on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday morning that the project had been put on hold following his shock by-election victory in March.
"I love musicals, in fact I've written one, called 'Dusty'," he said.
"I've written a musical which has bee interrupted by my resumption of my parliamentary career but was supposed to be premiered at edinburgh festival in August."
Presumably the show would feature Springfield hit records including 'Son Of A Preacher Man' and 'I Only Want to Be with You'.
It's not Galloway's first foray into the world of music. Last year he lent his voice to a cover of Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth (is there a Springfield pattern developing?) - and prior to that worked on an anti-Iraq cover version of War by Edwin Starr.
