The Voice star will.i.am admits he needs to use Auto-tune on his songs as his singing isn't good enough.
The Black Eye Peas rapper is working on his "singing abilities" after revealing he uses computer technology to improve his vocals.
While defending the process on Alan Carr's Chatty Man show, the sheepish star concedes he is trying to improve his own voice.
He says: "I use Auto-tune because I write and produce. A lot of the time I am in the studio by myself and no one works as much as I do. So the computer allows me to make music singing myself and not wait around for singers to come and sing it.
"It's a rare combination to have someone who can write songs and sing well.
"The computer allows me to execute my ideas at the speed I think them. So that's why I learnt to (use) Auto-tune. It's just an effect. But I am working on, you know, my singing abilities."
The rapper was also forced to defend his flagging TV talent show The Voice following weeks of criticism over everything from falling ratings to technical malfunctions.
He explains: "I checked Wikipedia once and it said I was one million years old, so you can't always believe what you read."
