Rio Ferdinand has clarified he will still support England at the European Championship despite his controversial squad omission.
Ferdinand was perturbed at being overlooked in favour of one-capped Martin Kelly at the weekend after Gary Cahill had to withdraw from the 23-man party due to a double-fractured jaw sustained in Saturday's friendly.
The former Three Lions captain tweeted "What reasons?????!!!", alluding to manager Roy Hodgson's "footballing reasons" which were cited for his squad rejection.
However the 33-year-old stated on Twitter: "Just so we dont get it twisted ere....i'll be in a pub somewhere supporting England this summer! Love the lads!"
It is believed Ferdinand has a number of supporters within Roy Hodgson's camp over his exclusion, with certain newspaper reports alluding to another possible mutiny over John Terry.
On Sunday, the Manchester United defender's representative Jamie Moralee said in a statement: "Lampard, Terry, Barry, Gerrard; all ageing but they go to the tournament. Why is Rio different?
"To treat a player that has captained and served his country 81 times (in this manner) is nothing short of disgraceful. Total lack of respect from Hodgson and the FA as far as I am concerned."
Ferdinand made the last of his 81 international appearances in the 2-2 draw with Switzerland in June last year.
