Dorothy Richards and Majorie Ruddle have given new meaning to the phrase Sister Act - they have been crowned the world's oldest siblings!
Dorothy, 108, and sister Marjorie, 105, from Northampton, were presented with their Guinness World Record certificates last week, at a party where the pair reminisced about their lives growing up together.
The sisters' combined age is, wait for it... 213 years, three months and 27 days! The pair have lived through 25 prime ministers and two world wars.
The sisters were awarded their title after Majorie's daughter Pat contacted Guinness World Records, as the family suspected the pair were in with a chance of winning the unique accolade:
"We've always wondered whether Dorrie and Marjorie were the oldest sisters around and last year decided to find out.
"We contacted the Guinness World Records and it took them several weeks to do their research and confirm it. To be honest I would have been surprised to find any siblings older than them and I think it may be a long time before their record is broken."
