Manchester United Sign Nick Powell, Here's The Crewe Starlet's Best Goals (VIDEO)

WATCH: United Sign Wonderkid Powell

Manchester United have unveiled Nick Powell as their second signing of the summer.

Powell has signed on a four year contract for an undisclosed fee, although it is believed he could ultimately cost up to £6m.

The Crewe Alexander starlet scored 16 goals from 45 appearances for the Alex in 2011/12, including the opener in their League Two play-off final win over Cheltenham.

Powell, 18, told United's website: "It really is a dream come true to be signing for Manchester United.

"I'm excited about continuing my development with Sir Alex and the world-class players in the squad.

"The thought of making the step up to the Premier League next season is an exciting prospect. I can't wait to get started."

Sir Alex Ferguson added: “We have scouted Nick for months now. He is an exceptional talent and has been schooled well at Crewe. I’m delighted he has chosen to come to United. He has a lot to offer and we are all looking forward to working with him."

POWELL'S WEMBLEY GOAL

Powell joins Japanese international Shinji Kagawa has meanwhile revealed he instantly "hit it off" when he met Ferguson, which persuaded him to move to the Old Trafford club.

"I met (Ferguson) and contacted him a few times afterwards. I thought we hit it off, which meant a lot to me. He told me, 'Don't worry about a thing, trust me. I would love it if you could take on this huge challenge'," Kagawa told the Kyodo news agency.

"And when a legendary man like him says that to you, it carries a lot of weight."

The 23-year-old expressed a desire to play "in the hole", which likely means he will be the attacking foil for Wayne Rooney, who has reverted back to more of an out-and-out striker.
