'Strictly Come Dancing': Michael Vaughan Becomes The First Star To Sign Up

Swapping The Field For The Ballroom

Michael Vaughan, the former England cricket captain, is aiming to bowl them over as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 2005 Ashes-winning skipper is believed to be the first star to sign up for the next series of the popular dance show.

He would follow other England cricket stars Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash who have previously featured on the show.

The 37-year-old played for Yorkshire throughout his career but retired from first class cricket three years ago.

The series returns later this year with new judge Darcey Bussell, who replaces Alesha Dixon following her departure from the show earlier this year to join the Britain's Got Talent panel.

A source confirmed the cricket star would be joining the show.
