A shootout in the airport of the Mexican capital claimed the lives of two police officers on Monday.
Speaking to Milenio Television, a spokesman for the airport, Jorge Gomez, said that two were killed and another person injured, while the motive behind the killings, as well as the identity of those involved, are unknown.
Gomez added that the incident, which occurred in the airport's second terminal, has not disrupted services to and from Mexico City airport.
According to Reuters, local police are unable to confirm reports or shed any light of what may have happened to provoke the shootings.

Witnesses say roughly a dozen rounds were fired.
