BBC Beat ITV 13.4m To 2.3m In Euro 2012 Final Ratings

Euro 2012 Final Ratings: BBC Thrash ITV

Spain were not just the only side who dished out a thrashing on Euro 2012 final night, as the BBC drew in an audience six times as great as that of ITV1.

Just 2.3 million tuned into Adrian Chiles chairing ITV's coverage in comparison to the 13.4m who switched on to Gary Lineker, Alans Hansen and Shearer and Gianluca Vialli.

Both corporations' coverage has been widely criticised by supporters during the Euros, but Auntie Beeb's resistance to commercials and the obvious omission of Adrian Chiles ensured ITV were, like Italy, lambs to the slaughter on Sunday night.

Kudos to all 13.4 million of you who tolerated Mark Lawrenson, unless you tuned into the CBBC kids offering their views. It's just like listening to Lawrenson in fairness.
