Just 10 days after announcing their split, Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have settled their divorce, according to U.S celebrity site TMZ.
Katie's lawyer, Jonathan Wolfe, told the site: "This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."
He added that they were grateful for the "professionalism and diligence" shown by Tom's lawyers.
The settlement reportedly involved lengthy negotiations between the two legal teams and it's understood that Tom pressed for permission to be able to spend quality time with Suri.
The reasons behind the divorce aren't known at the moment, though there has been press speculation that one of them was a fear on Katie's part that Suri would be indoctrinated into the Scientology movement.
Whatever the reasons behind the split, it became clear recently that the courts weren't likely to be involved.
A source had told The Daily Mirror: "Tom doesn’t want to go to war with his wife unless he has to.
“He feels there is still time for Katie and he to sit down and sort out a compromise. He hoped she would come to the West Coast, but now it is more likely he has to make the effort to head to New York.
"The lawyers are working away, but Tom reckons he is the best one to communicate with his wife. He reckons he can delay the hearing or come to an interim agreement."
