Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has been hailed a superhero after she saved a drunken man who collapsed in front of incoming traffic last week.
The singer, who ditched booze after a stint in rehab last year, spotted the reveller while on holiday in Ibiza and jumped out of her car to move the party-goer into the recovery position.
Sarah then flagged down a local person for help and has since been praised for acting so quickly.
A source tells The Mirror: "Sarah was driving around the island in a hire car when she saw this young guy passed out on his back with vomit around him. She slammed on her brakes and rushed over to him to see if he was OK. Luckily, he was still breathing, but she was worried he might choke if he was sick so she put him on his side in the recovery position and then flagged a passing car down for assistance.
"A local then called an ambulance for him and the guy was taken to hospital. The medics said he would have to have his stomach pumped, and thanked Sarah for stepping in. If he had been sick while he was lying on his back he could have choked to death.
Sarah said she felt sorry for the guy and couldn't drive on without making sure he was OK."
The pop star has endured a highly publicised battle with alcohol herself in the past but has successfully steered clear of drink after ditching her unhealthy habit.
She recently told Hello magazine: "The day I left for rehab, I was in such a mess. I've been told by those close to me that was when I hit my worst. I was crying hysterically. I felt ashamed, embarrassed, terrified - my emotions were all over the place.''
