Coronation Street bosses have made last minute alterations to one of the soap's storylines following the real-life death of Christopher Brahney.
The Stone Roses fan - who went missing after the band's reunion concert in Manchester last month - was found dead in a canal on Monday. Out of respect for his family, last-minute edits to Friday night's episode of the Manchester-based soap have been made.
In the soap, Peter Barlow's family fear the worst when they report him missing to the police this week and are asked to identify a body.
An ITV spokesperson said: "Producers have taken the decision to remove references, which although scripted and filmed weeks ago, bore some similarities to the manner in which Christopher Brahney's body was found.
"Like many others, we were extremely saddened by the news of his death, and our thoughts and condolences are with his family.
"What we have removed is multiple references to a body being found in a canal. We have made the change so the finding referenced by a policeman is now broader, simply a body being found, no reference to where."
Plans for the changes began as soon as soap bosses heard the sad news about Christopher.
