Cher Lloyd Follows One Direction In Breaking Into US Top Ten

Where One Direction Goes, Cher Shall Follow...

Cher Lloyd has achieved chart success in the States - with Want U Back making the iTunes US top 10.

The British X Factor star has gone to Number Seven on the iTunes chart, Music Week reported, with her debut US single.

Cher Lloyd has enjoyed the patronage of her former X Factor judge Simon Cowell

Cher, who is expected to appear on America's Got Talent later this month, said: "I'm so excited by everything that is going on! I've been touring US radio stations for quite a while now, and it's been fantastic to get out and see so much of America.

"There's still lots of hard work to do though!"

The Swagger Jagger singer recently said she was making a bid to crack the tough Stateside market with the help of music mogul and US X Factor judge LA Reid.

"I have a few days off after the tour finishes then I'm off to smash open some doors in the US. I've worked hard in the UK and I'm gonna work hard in America.

"I feel so lucky to have L.A. Reid supporting me," she said.

Simon Cowell recently tweeted of the singer: "As the biggest brat in the world, I want to support my fellow brat @cherlloyd & help her get to number 1 in the US" - @SimonCowell
