Man Refused Bank Card For Looking Too Much Like Pavarotti

Pavarotti Lookalike Is Refused Bank Card

Colin Miller was recently stunned to find his application for a Barclays personalised photo card had been turned down - after staff suggested he didn't own the copyright to the image of his own face.

The confusion apparently arose because part-time Pavarotti impersonator Colin, 66, looks so much like the late Italian opera singer.

When the Barclays team saw the photograph accompanying Colin's online application, they assumed he'd uploaded a celebrity picture instead of one of his own.

"I was shocked," the disgruntled Colin - who also works as a train guard - told the press. "I can't help who I look like. I don't try to look like him. I have had no cosmetic surgery and I don't try to do things to myself to look like him. I am being penalised for looking how I do."

Anyway, you'll doubtless be relieved to hear that the misunderstanding has now been cleared up and the bank are keen to process the original application without further delay. Phew!

And while we can appreciate Colin's indignation and annoyance at the inconvenience he's been put through, we can kind of see how the mistake occurred. Just take a look at this picture gallery of him in 'action'...
