A couple were left RATTLED (geddit?!) when they discovered a deadly snake hitching a ride under the bonnet of their car:
The python, who goes by the name of Monty*, sneaked into Marlene Swart and Leon Swanepoel's motor while they were on holiday at the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The pair were apparently on the look-out for lions (what were they doing in South Africa? They should try Essex) when the five-metre python shot out of the grass and disappeared under their car. Not being able to find it, they then travelled for three miles, not knowing it was lying on their engine all along.
"The python disappeared underneath our car and about two minutes later everyone started laughing when it failed to reappear," says Marlene (and with friends like those, who needs enemies, eh?). "When we eventually opened the bonnet the snake was just relaxing, watching all of the commotion around him."
Snakes, eh? Can't live with 'em, can't drive around with them under your bonnet for long.
*we may have made that bit up
