A man has been charged with the rape of a six-year-old girl at Oldham Magistrates Courts.
Paul Lockwood was believed to be on the run in Cyprus and appeared earlier this month on a list of police's 'nine most wanted in Cyprus'.
The former soldier was arrested last week in Somerset.
The charge relates to an attack that happened in the 1980s.
He was granted bail and will appear at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on October 1.
