The runner who collapsed and died after finishing a Birmingham half-marathon was named today as Kevin Paterson.
The 36-year-old had just completed Sunday's Bupa Great Birmingham Run when he complained of feeling unwell.
He went to medical personnel who were stationed at the finish line for help.
Event organisers Nova International said in a statement: "He received immediate treatment from medical experts from the moment of his collapse and during his transfer to Birmingham City hospital, but unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone at the scene and hospital staff, they were unable to save him."
