With just 12 days to go until the US presidential election, Barack Obama has reportedly described Mitt Romney as a "bullshitter".
According to Politico.com's Mike Allen Obama made the comments during an interview with Rolling Stone's Douglas Brinkley.
Brinkley wrote: "We arrived at the Oval Office for our 45-minute interview ... on the morning of October 11th. ... As we left the Oval Office, executive editor Eric Bates told Obama that he had asked his six-year-old if there was anything she wanted him to say to the president. ... She said, 'Tell him: You can do it.' "Obama grinned. ... 'You know, kids have good instincts,' Obama offered. 'They look at the other guy and say, "Well, that's a bullshitter, I can tell."'
During the second presidential debate Obama repeatedly found various more polite ways to accuse Romney of not telling the truth.
"What Governor Romney just said just isn't true,” the president said when responding to one Romney attack on the economy. “Not true,” Obama repeated at several points during the debate.
Similarly vice president Joe Biden managed to find various ways to accuse Paul Ryan of making things up including accusing him of engaging in "malarkey".
