What's that, you say? A new romantic comedy from Working Title? Written and directed by the man behind 'Borat' and 'Brüno', starring the snooty one from 'Bridesmaids' and featuring a host of top class British comedy acting talent? Hoorah!
Yes, Dan Mazer's 'I Give It A Year' - which stars Rafe Spall, Anna Faris, Rose Byrne and Simon Baker, and features Olivia Colman, Stephen Merchant and Minnie Driver - gets its world premiere at the London Comedy Film Festival on 26 January. And it looks like it's going to be the best British romcom in some time. Double hoorah!
LOCO (for that is the festival's moniker) runs from 24-27 January 2013 at the BFI Southbank, Hackney Picturehouse and other London venues. As well as featuring 'I Give It A Year', it also includes a special preview of the upcoming 3D animated biography of Monty Python's Graham Chapman, 'A Liar’s Autobiography', the UK premiere of star-studded Hollywood comedy 'Movie 43', a 50th anniversary screening of 'The Pink Panther' and a celebration of the life and work of Nora Ephron in a three-movie 'Ephrathon'.
And if you can't wait until January to enjoy LOCO's fine comedic film events: they're also hosting Britain's first ever 'Woodystock' - a night of stand-up, readings, jazz and a screening of 'Manhattan', all in celebration of Woody Allen's birthday on Saturday 1 December.
