X Factor Winner James Arthur Has Credit Card Declined

Why Was James Arthur's Credit Card Declined?

A day hitting the sales did not go to plan for James Arthur - as he had his credit card declined three times at the till.

Despite seeing his debut single Impossible rocket to the top of the charts and go platinum in its first two weeks of sales, The X Factor winner is clearly still waiting for his royalty cheques to come through as his bank card was turned down repeatedly during a shopping spree.

The singer had headed to the Foot Asylum shop for a whole new wardrobe to match his new star status. On the shopping list were T-shirts, shoes, and a stack of 10 quite similar baseball caps.

His trip to the store in the Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-on-Tees was probably supposed to be a big event for the star, as he was followed around the store by a photographer, who was also able to get behind the till to snap the £771.74 bill he had run up.

But things got embarrassing at the till when James' card was turned down.

A fan even offered to lend James some money to cover the cost of the shopping spree but luckily the store manager decided to let the singer leave without paying the bill and settle the sum later on.

A spokesperson for James later explained the mishap, saying: "He had the wrong credit card."
