Olly's New Footballing Role

It's only January, but already Olly Murs is having a great 2013.

After the news he has sold over half a million copies of his third album ‘Right Place Right Time’ since its release in November, the former 'X Factor' star has been revealed as an ambassador for the Football Association to celebrate its 150th year.

Olly, who used to play football semi-professionally for Witham Town, is set to take part in a number of activities throughout the year as part of his new role.

Olly said: “I’m delighted be an official ambassador for The Football Association for its 150th anniversary year.

"I’m a huge football fan and will be involved in FA events and initiatives over the course of this year. In particular, I want to help to showcase the amazing work The FA does at the grassroots level of the game.”

To add to Olly's success, his bid to crack the US has been given a boost by a role in teen drama '90210'.

Olly will sing two of his hits on the CW show, as he helps characters Liam (Matt Lanter) and Navid (Michael Steger) in their efforts to impress a pro-surfer.

The 'Xtra Factor' host also revealed earlier in the week he is set to release his next single, 'Army Of Two' on 10 March.
