Teenager Arrested After Man Killed By Van In Salford

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police were called to Liverpool Road in Irlam, Salford, at 8pm yesterday after a Vauxhall Corsa van had been in collision with a 22-year-old man.

The man, named by police as Reece Duffy from Irlam, was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of Saturday.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.

"The road has now been reopened.

"Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4741."
