Alex McLeish "parted company" with Nottingham Forest today but his not the first quick-fire dismissal of a Championship manager this season.
Henning Berg's dismissal after 57 days at Blackburn also entered the pantheon of memorably short managerial stints in English football.

Brian Clough (Leeds, 44 days)
Perhaps the most famous English football sacking there has been, Leeds dumped Clough as he failed to win over the players who had been so faithful to former boss Don Revie and who he had so reviled whilst at Derby County.

Those 44 days were the inspiration for The Damned United, David Peace's fact-based-upon-fiction account which spawned the Tom Hooper-directed film. Ol' Big Head rebuilt his reputation at Nottingham Forest, where he twice won the European Cup.
Les Reed (Charlton, 41 days)
Charlton went through three managers in their last season in the Premier League and middle man Reed was the worst of the trio.
Following the hapless Iain Dowie, Reed won just one game and presided over six defeats and a draw in his eight games in charge before Alan Pardew replaced him.
Steve Coppell (Manchester City, 33 days)
Coppell, a Manchester United winger in his playing heyday, is the exception in the list for it was he who cut short his disastrous spell at Maine Road.
Having left Crystal Palace, he decided the stress of moving north had caused him to change his mind after just six games in charge of the Citizens.
Paul Hart (QPR, 28 days)
Hart was one of countless managerial victims at Loftus Road under the running of puerile owner Flavio Briatore.
Having replaced the sacked Jim Magilton, he failed to steady the ship and was swiftly offed.
Leroy Rosenior (Torquay, 10 minutes)
Rosenior himself accepted he was on borrowed time under owner Mike Bateson, who 10 minutes later sold the club to a consortium who wanted their own man.
"It was something that I knew was going to happen but I didn't think it was going to happen after 10 minutes," Rosenior said at the time.
